Generals To Participate In NA3HL Showcase

The Eugene Generals are proud to announce the team’s upcoming participation at the 2018 NA3HL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota.

The team’s trip to Minnesota will be the second major trip of the season for the Generals after the team previously ventured to the East Coast to play against competition from the Eastern Hockey League.

The Generals will face off against three NA3HL opponents - the Cape Cod Islanders, Wisconsin Whalers, and Willmar WarHawks - during the team’s stay in Minnesota.

The 2018-19 season marks the ninth for the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL), which is one of two USA Hockey-certified Tier III junior leagues.

The NA3HL continues its tradition of serving as the best training ground of its kind in the country by providing the best exposure and developmental vehicles available for student-athletes at the Tier III junior level. In 2018, the NA3HL had a record amount of player advancement to the NAHL and had over 150 college commitments.

"We're all really excited," said Generals Head Coach Justin Kern. "Having never played against opponents from the NA3HL, we're eager to see the level of competition and how we stack up. It'll be great to have so many teams from all over the country all in one central location in Minnesota. It should be a lot of fun and a great challenge for our team."

"It's definitely an exciting opportunity for our franchise," added Generals GM Alex Stimson. "The NA3HL has proven to be a top-notch league and we're very eager to test ourselves against some great teams. We owe a major thanks to NA3HL Commissioner and President Mark Frankenfeld and the NA3HL as a whole for the opportunity."

Eugene's participation at the 2018 NA3HL Showcase will continue what is arguably the country's most diverse and challenging schedule at the Tier III level. The 2018-19 season will see the Generals face off against an array of Tier III junior, ACHA collegiate, and 18U opponents, a schedule format that can be likened to that of USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program (NTDP).

The Eugene Generals maintain Independent sanctioning by USA Hockey and are the only Tier III junior hockey program in the Northwest to be officially sanctioned by USA Hockey.

Prior to the 2018 NA3HL Showcase, the Generals will face the Seattle Jr. Thunderbirds in a two-game series scheduled for Friday night at 7:30PM and Saturday at 9:45PM. Tickets are still available at
