Series Preview - Generals Wrap Up 2017 In Wenatchee

The Eugene Generals (5-12-1) will head back to Washington this weekend for the second time in less than a month to play a two-game series against the Wenatchee Wolves at the Town Toyota Center in Wenatchee, Washington.

The series will be the second meeting between the two sides after the Wolves swept a two-game series in November, also in Wenatchee, behind scores of 4-1 and 4-2.

Having been idle since that two-game series in Wenatchee, Generals are ready and eager to play competitive hockey against a familiar foe before heading into the holiday break. The matchup with the Wolves will be the final games of 2017 for Eugene as the team will enjoy two weeks off during the Christmas season before departing to Boston, Massachusetts to play in the USPHL Winter Showcase.

Meanwhile, the Wolves have gone a perfect six-for-six in games played since their previous meeting against the Generals by posting a perfect 4-0-0 record at a recent NAPHL Showcase before returning home to sweep a two-game series vs. OHA - White. All six of those aforementioned wins by the Wolves came by just one goal, with two of those wins decided in overtime or a shootout.

Wolves forward Jake Landers led all scorers in the previous meeting between the Generals and Wolves by scoring five of Wenatchee's eight goals in the series. Despite taking the loss in both games, Generals goaltenders Christopher Alexakis and Jamie Frantz were both superb in their prior outings against the Wolves with each posting 50+ saves as the two netminders split the starting duties in Wenatchee.

Foster Finds Net In Debut - Recent acquisition Garrett Foster scored in each of his first two games as a General in last month's two-game series vs. Wenatchee. Heading into this weekend, Foster will likely be looked to again to help carry the scoring load for a young Generals team.

Holiday Break - Following the two-game series with the Wolves, Generals players will return to Eugene before then departing to spend time with their respective families and friends for the holiday season. Practices are scheduled to resume on Wednesday, January 3rd ahead of the team's departure to Boston for the Winter Showcase.
