Eugene, OR. -The Eugene Generals (10-17-0-1) will embark on a three-game road trip in a span of three nights this upcoming weekend from Thursday to Saturday.
In the span of three days, the Generals will play on the road against three teams: the West Sound Warriors, Wenatchee Wolves, and Tri-Cities Outlaws. In total, the Generals will travel 934 miles this weekend as they travel throughout the state of Washington before heading back home. All three games will start at 7:35.
The first of the three games is Thursday night when the Generals square off against the Warriors in Bremerton. The Warriors (24-2-1-1) are currently tied with the Bellingham Blazers for first place in the NPHL with fifty points each.
On Friday, the Generals return to Wenatchee after playing there just last weekend. The Wolves (17-11-1-0) defeated the Generals twice last weekend, by scores of 10-2 and 9-3. In the 9-3 loss, the Generals scored all three goals on the power play from Kyle Ruchas, Addison Wells, and Daniel Gomez.
The Generals conclude the road trip Saturday night when they face the Outlaws (3-23-0-0) on their home ice in Kennewick. The last time the two teams met was back in Kennewick on November 20 and 21. The Outlaws defeated the Generals in the first game 4-3 while the Generals avenged that loss the next day when they won 5-2.
The Generals will look to try and end their five-game losing streak. Their last win came back in December when they defeated the Wolves 4-2 in Eugene. Currently in fifth place, the Generals are eight points behind the Cheney Icehawks for the fourth and final spot in the NPHL playoffs. With fourteen games left in the regular season, there is still plenty of time for the Generals to capture a playoff berth.
After the long road trip ends this weekend, the Generals will begin their final home stand of the regular season on Friday, January 16 versus West Sound. The Generals will play three consecutive weekends at the Rink Exchange before their final five games on the road to end the regular season.
