EUGENE, Ore. - The Eugene Generals (12-6-1) upset the first place West Sound Warriors in a 3-2 finish in tonight’s game.
Both teams were well rested, fresh and ready for action in tonight’s game.
West Sound was eager to put points on the board. At 3:01 in the first period, Jake McMullen put the Warriors up 1-0 over the Generals.
Midway through the first period, at 13:52, Generals forward Austin Sullens tied the game. Jacob Scheie was awarded the assists.
West sound out played the Generals in the second period by holding Eugene scoreless, and netting one of their own.
However, in the third period, the Generals put the game away.
The Generals, determined to score, tied the game for the second time at 10:30 of the third period, when Kyle Ruchas lit the lamp. Ruchas was fed the puck by Hunter Hartman.
Veteran defenseman Connor Bambico scored the game-winning goal at 16:11 of the third period. Kenneth Grabeldinger was given the assist on Bambico’s goal.
The Generals will face the Warriors tomorrow night at 7:35.
On Dec 31, the Generals will be taking on the Vancouver Vipers in Eugene. The puck hits the ice at 7:30. After the game, fans will get a chance to bring in the New Year, while skating on the ice with the players.
