Weekend Preview: Home and Away With Vancouer

EUGENE, Ore. -The Eugene Generals (14-11-0) are hosting the Vancouver Victory (15-14-2) this Friday at 7:35 p.m. at the Lane County Ice Arena.

Following Friday’s game, both teams will pack their bags and travel north to Vancouver, Wash. where they will play each other again, but on the Victory’s ice.

The last time the teams met, the Generals stole the show with a 4-2 victory in Vancouver.

When facing-off against the Victory, the Generals are led by Randy Ludwig who has 10 points (six goals, four assists) in four games. The Generals are also backed by Team Captain Christian Merritt who has seven points (four goals, three assists) against the Victory. However, the Generals depth is not limited to these two players.

The Generals have 12 players with at least one point against the Victory.

Vancouver is primarily lead by the Bordak brothers. The Bordaks account for three of the Victory’s top four scorers when they play the Generals. Avik Bordak leads his team with six points (three goals, three assists), Elijah Bordak has four points (three goals, one assist), and Joe Bordak has four points (four assists).

The Victory may look to have goaltender Mitch Saviola protect the pipes, as he has started three of the four games against the Generals.

In the past, the Generals have found ways to get the puck past Saviola and will look to do exactly that come Friday.

Sports Clips will be sponsoring Friday night’s game, and they will have a promotional table and giveaways.

Be here, at the Lane County Ice Arena, when the Generals host the Victory in their fifth matchup of the season. If you cannot make it to the game, you can always join the rest of the Generals nation on EGHN. The EGHN coverage will be broadcast by Daniel Bell and Alex Stimson. Coverage of EGHN will begin at approximately 15 minutes before the puck hits the ice.
