Generals Lose in Shootout

EUGENE, Ore. -- The Eugene Generals (15-12-2) lost 5-4 in overtime, for the second consecutive night to the Yellowstone Quake (18-13-2).
Tonight's game was finalized in the shootout after each team exhausted 10 shooters.
The Generals scored the first goal of the night and shutout the Quake in the first period tonight.
Randy Ludwig scored on a power play 3:51 into the period. Ludwig's goal was the lone goal of the period.
The Quake held the Generals scoreless, while their special teams caught fire, in the second period.
Travis Momon scored the Quakes first goal of the game at 7:03 on a power play. Derek Scott scored a powerplay goal 8:05, and Andreas Olofsson scored the team's third power play goal of the period at 10:50 into the second period.
At the start of the third period, the score was 3-1 Quake, and it would be an uphill battle from there if the Generals wanted to stay in the game.
The Generals found an opportunity to score on a power play, and made it a one goal game, when Ludwig scored his second goal of the night 0:46 into the third period.
The Quake wasted little time to respond to the Generals goal, when TJay Lozier score 1:46 into the period.
Eugene responded appropriately to Lozier's goal; scoring twice more before the period was up.
The Generals received goals from Zak Johnson at 7:56, which was scored on the power play, and Connor Bambico at 18:47 of the third period.
Bambico's goal tied the game 4-4 and forced the game to overtime.
In overtime, each team was unable to score; allowing the Generals to see their first shootout of the season.
After 10 shooters from each team attempted to score, Momon was able to get the puck past Gabriel Mier y Teran to win the game.
