The Eugene Generals (3-3) travel to Washington this weekend to play the Seattle Totems and the Puget Sound Tomahawks. The Generals lost to the Southern Oregon Spartans 5-3 and 3-1 and beat the River City Jaguars 7-3 last weekend.
The Generals play the Totems on Friday night at 8:00 at the Olympic View Arena. Eugene lost to the Totems 7-1 during opening weekend, and they look to even the season series at one. The Totems have won their first seven games outscoring opponents 45-17. The Generals have loss six straight games to the Totems dating back to last season. Brad Main and Ryan McDonald lead the team in points with ten.
"In our last meeting with Seattle they definitely got the better of us," Coach Seidel said. "This weekend we are looking to increase our puck movement and tighten our defense to make the outcome lean in our favor, in what should be a good game."
On Saturday night, the Generals play the Tomahawks at the Bremerton Ice Arena at 7:30. These two teams met opening weekend with the Generals winning both games 4-1 and 9-1. The Generals have beaten the Tomahawks 15 straight times dating back to the 08/09 season. The Generals rank fourth in the league in save percentage at 90.8%.
Friday's games will be broadcasted on EGHN audio only with the pregame starting at 7:45 and the puck drop at 8. Saturday's game will also be broadcasted on EGHN audio only with the pregame starting at 7:15 and the puck drops at 7:35.
The Generals return home on October 15th to host the River City Jaguars for their Sixth Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night. The Generals players will wear pink jerseys, and the Generals will auction off the jerseys to raise money for Breast Cancer Research.
