Eugene, OR - For the first weekend in December the Eugene Generals (10-13) will travel to Washington to take on the Seattle Totems (22-1) and the Puget Sound Tomahawks (1-22). Last weekend the Generals were 1-2 with a Thanksgiving win at River City 6-2 and two losses against Southern Oregon each on Friday and Saturday night.
On Friday the Eugene Generals will again attempt to beat the top-ranked Seattle Totems in Seattle. The Totems have only received one loss this season against the Southern Oregon Spartans and but are undefeated at home. Seattle also boasts the league?s leading scorer in Christian Hoffman and the league?s second and third ranked goalies, Bryce Fink and Sean Buckley.
"Obviously Seattle is the top team in our division so it is always a fun challenge to go up against them, especially in their house. We have to play extremely disciplined and focused to compete with Seattle. We are a little beat up right now so I'm looking for some players to step up and get us through this time,? Said head coach Chuck Kennedy.
Saturday night the Generals will play the Puget Sound Tomahawks. The Generals are undefeated against the Tomahawks this season winning one game by as many as eight goals. However, a week later the Generals only beat by the Tomahawks by one.
Puget has been playing very good hockey recently and has competed with us in every game, so I don't expect to see anything different from them,? said Kennedy. ?It will be a very competitive weekend for us as we getprepared for the upcoming showcase. We have not been as consistent in our effort and execution but there are signs the boys are starting to understand what it takes to compete at this level every night."
On Friday, the Generals face off against the Totems at 8:00 pm and the EGHN pregame will begin at 7:45 and will be audio only. Saturday, the puck will be dropped at 7:30 and the pregame will start at 7:15 on EGHN audio only.
