Eugene Generals Travel To Spokane To Play In The NORPAC Showcase

Eugene, OR - The Eugene Generals travel to Spokane, Washington this weekend to compete in the NORPAC Showcase. The Generals are scheduled to play four games this weekend against the Missoula Maulers the Helena Bighorns, the Bozeman Icedogs (10-14), and the Butte Roughriders.

The Generals take on the Missoula Maulers on Friday December 10th at 5:00 pm at the Eagles Ice-A-Rena. The Maulers are ranked second in NORPAC's America West division and are the only team to have beat the division's top ranked team, the Helena Bighorns.

Saturday morning the Eugene Generals will attempt to hand the Helena Bighorns their second loss of the season. The Bighorns, ranked 1st in NORPAC's America West division with 44 points, and they boast six of the ten top scorers in the entire NORPAC conference. Helena has scored more goals than any other team in the NORPAC conference this season, 176, despite playing fewer games than Seattle, the only other NORPAC team with more points.

Later on Saturday the Generals will play the Bozeman Icedogs from Montana. The Icedogs are two points behind the Generals in the NORPAC's standings. The Generals and the Icedogs have almost identical records with the only difference being Eugene has played one more game and has one more win.

The Generals will finish off the weekend with a Sunday morning game against the Butte Roughriders. The Roughriders have only one win this season and it came at home against the Bozeman Icedogs on November 27th.

"This is a big weekend for our older boys seeing how we have some college scouts and coaches coming to Spokane for the showcase," said Generals' assistant coach Brent Seidel. "We will also have three new players that we are hoping will really make a big impact for us."
