Generals Host Wranglers for Military Appreciation Night

The Eugene Generals (11-6) will host the Rogue Valley Wranglers (0-18) for Military Appreciation Night presented by the US ARMY this Saturday at 7:35 PM at Lane Events Center-Ice, and will also host the Wranglers Friday at 7:35 PM. This marks the second time the Generals have held a Military Appreciation Night, but it will be the first time the Generals will be wearing special military appreciation jerseys. The jerseys, made to look like US ARMY uniforms, will be auctioned off on eBay starting today. The US ARMY has chosen to donate the proceeds from the jersey auction to Eugene high schools to promote fitness and wellbeing. All military personnel or veterans will receive free admission with military id.

“The Eugene Generals organization is proud to be supporting the troops who are risking their lives, or have risked their lives in the past,” Generals GM Flint Doungchak stated. “We are also very excited about the chance to wear the military appreciation jerseys. The US ARMY has been a great partner for this event, and we look forward to a long relationship with them.”

Tomorrow’s game will be the fourth match-up between the Generals and Wranglers this season. The Generals have won all three contests, but have lost three of their last four games. The Wranglers are still looking for their first win of the season, and would like nothing more than to upset their rivals to the north. The Generals have yet to lose on home ice (7-0), and will be looking to keep that streak alive. The Generals also haven’t lost wearing special event night jerseys (3-0). The Generals must not get cocky, however, as the Wranglers have played the Generals tough in all three games.

This will be the first time the two newest Generals, Duston Fender and Robert Reiber, will face their former team, and the first time Clayton Lewis and Tom Blake will face the Generals. All four players should come out firing as each player wants to show their former team their best hockey.

The games this Friday and Saturday against the Wranglers at 7:35 PM at Lane Events Center-Ice will be broadcast on GiTV. For more information on special event nights, upcoming games, jersey auctions or GiTV please visit
