Eugene, OR – The Eugene Generals (12-6) scored six unanswered goals in the third period in route to a 9-3 win over the winless Rogue Valley Wranglers (0-19) tonight at Lane Events Center-Ice. The Generals and the Wranglers battled for two periods, but the Generals stomped on the gas in the third period out-shooting Rogue Valley 28-5. Eight different players scored for the Generals tonight as they were finally able to get production from a variety of lines.
“It was a great third period effort and a good win,” Generals Head Coach Chris Hartly stated. “We lacked on execution in the first two periods, and that’s why the game was so close until the third.”
Seven Generals had multiple point nights. Michael Frei had two goals and one assist, which earned him the Big Town Hero of the game. Tyler Tymchuk and Justin Adams each had four points on the night. Tymchuk scored two goals and added two assists, and Justin Adams scored one goal and had three helpers. Kyle Mills, Trent McKee and Ian Evans each had a goal and an assist, and Bobby Reiber had two assists in his Generals debut. Erik Brody scored a goal, and Brendan Elkins, Neil Holder, George Arroyo and Joe Myers each had an assist.
