RMHC® of Oregon and Southwest Washington provides a “home away from home” for families and their seriously ill or injured children who travel far to receive medical treatment. Portland’s two Houses provide a setting in which families connect with other families, and children can meet other children going through a similar experience. During their visit, guests can stay in comfortable and livingly decorated private rooms where they can get a peaceful night’s rest, knowing their child is close by.

Lane County families with seriously ill or injured children receiving treatment at Portland hospitals spent more than 1,150 nights at the two Ronald McDonald Houses® last year. This year, RMHC’s outreach program will support free dental care for children in Lane County through the Assistance of League of Eugene and the White Bird Clinic.

“We believe that RMHC® of Oregon and Southwest Washington is a great cause, and not enough people around Lane County know about the great things they do for their residents,” Generals GM Flint Doungchak stated. “We’re happy that we can help bring awareness and donate the proceeds of our jersey auction, but there is so much more that can be done. We encourage everybody to support RMHC®, and spread the word about the great things they do for the people of Lane County.”
