Eugene, OR – The Eugene Generals (33-15) lost to the Seattle Totems (43-5) 4-5 tonight for Fan Appreciation Night presented by Ronald McDonald House Charities®. The loss didn’t effect the Generals division standing, as they were guaranteed the third seed in the Pacific Division Semi-Finals last weekend. The Generals were able to battle back from a 4-1 deficit to tie the game with 11:30 to go in the contest, but gave up the game-winner for Seattle with a little over two minutes to play.
“I have the same feelings on this game as I did on yesterday’s game,” Generals Head Coach Chris Hartly stated. “We played good, but had to many mistakes. Its as simple as that.”
Michael Frei and Brendan Elkins led the Generals with a goal and two assists a piece. Ian Evans and Erik Brody each had a goal on the night. Aaron Morris and Joe Myers each had an assist.
The Generals will now face the second seed Tri-City Titans (35-13) in the Pacific Division Semi-Finals. The Generals tied the Titans in their season series, and were able to walk away with a win the last two times the teams met. The Generals and Titans have only met one other time in the playoffs, and the Generals were able to walk away with the 2005 Pacific Division Championship.
The games against Tri-City next Friday and Saturday at Lane Events Center-Ice at 7:35 PM will be broadcast on GiTV. For more information on upcoming games or GiTV please visit eugenegenerals.com.
