The Eugene Generals (8-4) destroyed the River City Jaguars (0-11) 14-3 tonight at Lane Events Center-Ice on the Generals 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night. The game was never in doubt for the Generals, but that didn’t stop them from putting up double digits for the second time on Breast Cancer Awareness Night. The Generals continue their winning streak, and the Jaguars are still searching for their first win on the season.
“We played a pretty complete game of hockey tonight,” Generals Head Coach Chris Hartly stated. “We got right on them from the drop of the first puck, and never let up. This was our highest point total of the season, and the reason for that was the work ethic of our players.”
Four Generals players had at least four points on the night. Generals Captain Ryan Schank led the way with 4 goals and 2 assists, Garrett Bossert scored 2 and assisted 2, Michael Frei had 1 goal and 3 assists, and Ben Tikka assisted four players on the night. Only one Generals player didn’t have a point on the night; that is how deep this Generals team is.
The Generals also were able to raise a considerable amount of money for the American Cancer Society. With the jersey auction, and the in game auctions, the Generals were able to raise more than $3,200 for the American Cancer Society to help with their continued fight against breast cancer, and their continued support for breast cancer survivors.
The Generals will face River City again tomorrow night at Lane Events Center-Ice at 7:35. The game will be broadcast on GiTV. For more information on upcoming games or GiTV please visit www.eugenegenerals.com.
