The Eugene Generals (9-4), after losing four in a row, have now gone on a six game winning streak. Tonight’s victim was the River City Jaguars (0-12) who were given a 9-2 beating at the hands of the Generals. Just like last night, the Generals got out to a big lead and never let the Jaguars come close. The Generals scored the first seven goals of the game, and cruised to the finish.
“We didn’t get overconfident this weekend, and that is the reason we were able to come away with four points,” Generals Head Coach Chris Hartly stated. “River City is a better team than their record shows, but our guys our playing really well right now and we’re a pretty tough team to beat when we’re playing well.”
The Generals started the scoring 36 seconds into the game, and didn’t let up until the Jaguars had no shot of coming away with a victory. Tyler Tymchuk and Ben Tikka each had two goals on the night, and Tyler MacMillen, Ryan Schank, Lucas Romero, Kevin Crawford, and Garrett Bossert each had one goal a piece.
The Generals will travel to Vancouver next weekend to face the Fort Vancouver Pioneers. The teams will face off Saturday at 7:30 and Sunday at 3:15. The games will be broadcast in audio only on GiTV. For more information on upcoming games or GiTV please visit www.eugenegenerals.com.
