The Eugene Generals (20-15) have one last weekend to end their eight game losing streak against the Fort Vancouver Pioneers (29-4). The Generals have played the Pioneers very close all season long, but haven’t been able to pull out a victory. After the loss last weekend, the Pioneers remain the only team in the Pacific Division that the Generals have yet to defeat. The Generals will have two chances this weekend, Friday and Saturday at 7:35 at Lane Events Center-Ice, to steal a victory from the Pioneers in the regular season.
“We have come very close to beating them a few times this season, but just haven’t been able to pull it out in the end,” Generals Head Coach Chris Hartly stated. “We know we have the talent to beat them, but the guys have to get it through their heads that they will beat them.”
The Saturday game against the Pioneers is Veterans and Military Night. The US Army will be providing a National Anthem Singer, and the Oregon Army National Guard will be providing a Color Guard. One lucky member of the military or one veteran will win a free night’s stay at the Valley River Inn, and a free dinner for two at SweetWaters.
Both games this weekend will be broadcast on GiTV. For more information on upcoming games, Special Event Nights, or GiTV please visit eugenegenerals.com.
