The Eugene Generals (23-18) will get one more home game during the NOR PAC 2006-07 regular season. Due to scheduling conflicts at Valley Ice Arena in Beaverton, OR, the game between the Generals and the River City Jaguars (4-36) that was originally scheduled for Sunday, February 4 at 4:00 PM at Valley Ice Arena has now been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 6 at 7:00 PM at Lane Events Center-Ice. The Generals are taking this opportunity to give back to the community and have partnered with Food for Lane County for the event. Every fan that brings a canned food product to the game will receive one ticket for free with the purchase of a ticket of equal or greater value.
“We’re treating this game like it’s an opportunity,” Generals GM Flint Doungchak stated earlier today. “The game was changed on very short notice and instead of treating this like just another game we want to consider it as an opportunity to benefit the community.”
There is no limit to the amount of tickets for food that can be purchased. The Generals are encouraging all fans that attend the game to bring as much canned food as they can manage. The Generals believe strongly in Food for Lane County’s cause, and hope to bring some relief to the hunger in our community.
The Jaguars have only won four games this season, but the Generals cannot take them lightly. The last time the Generals faced the Jaguars, the Jaguars defeated the Generals 3-2. The Generals looked like they would only get one goal in the game, but Justin Adams put the second in the net as time expired. That win doubled the Jaguars previous win total, and started their three game winning streak.
The Generals have games this Friday and Saturday at TRAC Ice Arena in Pasco, WA at 7:00 PM against the Tri-City Titans, and on Tuesday in Eugene at 7:00 at Lane Events Center-Ice. The two games in Pasco will be broadcast on GiTV in audio only, and the game in Eugene will be broadcast on GiTV in audio and video.
