2nd Annual Bobby Freeland Game Announced
Valley Ice Arena will be hosting the 2nd Annual Bobby Freeland Game in Beaverton, OR on June 30, 2007 at 4:15 PM. As head coach for the Eugene Generals during it's inaugural season in 2005-06 the team captured their first Western Division Championship. The team also set the a single season record for an expansion franchise with 38 wins under Freeland.
"The event commemorates the siginificant contribution that Bobby have made to the hockey community," remarked Generals GM Flint Doungchak, "it's amazing when you think about how many people he has touched in his life." Last year, players from all world and of all levels from the NHL to youth hockey accended on Beaverton in celebration of his life. Proceeds from the events go to support his family. Coach Freeland is survived by his wife Sharon, and his two Children, Jake and Ryan.
Many of the Generals players, both past and present, will be attending the event.
