Generals Release 2007 Scouting Schedule and Tryout Dates
The Eugene Generals announced their 2007 Scouting Schedule and Tryout Dates earlier today. The Generals will be officially scouting prospects at nine evaluation camps, showcases, and tournaments from April 26-July 21. The Generals will also hold two tryout camps for prospective players. The Generals have a substantial number of positions to fill, and will be looking to create their third title contending roster.
“We had a lot of players move up to the collegiate level this past season, and we’re looking for quite a few players to fill those holes,” Generals Head Coach Chris Hartly stated. “We fully believe that we will have the best tryout camps yet, and be able to make another run at the Cascade Cup.”
The Generals scouting schedule kicks off at the Pacific District Select Evaluation for ’92 and ’93 birth years in Kent, WA at Kent Valley Ice Arena April 26-29. The Generals will make another trip to the Kent Valley Ice Arena May 3-6 for the Pacific District Select Evaluation for ’90 and ’91 birth years. From Kent, the Generals will travel to Burnaby 8 Rinks in Burnaby, BC, May 10-13, for the Global Sports Camp. The Generals will then travel to JPS (Junior Prospects Showcase) in Arvada, CO at Apex Arena May 18-20.The Generals will take a short break from the North West, and head to Glacier Gardens in Lakewood, CA May 25-27 for the Lakewood Showcase. Two short days later, the Generals will make the trip to Dempsey Arena in Anchorage, AK for Wolfster’s AK May 30-June 3.
The Generals will then hold their second Open Camp in Anchorage at Dempsey Arena Monday, June 4 through Tuesday, June 5. Open Camp Anchorage consists of 8.75 hours of ice time and a tryout camp jersey for $125. The Generals are offering a $25 discount for Open Camp Anchorage attendees who are also registered for Wolfster’s AK.
After Open Camp Anchorage the Generals will travel to Las Vegas for the second Global Sports Camp June 25-28 at Las Vegas Ice Center. The Generals will also make their second Wolfster’s appearance at Ice Town in Riverside, CA June 29-July 3 for Wolfster’s CA. The Generals will end their official scouting season July 18-21 at the Langley Sportsplex in Langley, BC for the Cal Rowan Memorial Hockey Tournament.
The Generals will hold Main Camp Tuesday, August 28 through Sunday, September 2. Main Camp consists of 26 hours of ice time, off-ice testing, 1-on-1 player evaluations, and a tryout camp jersey for $160. The Generals will most likely secure the Opening Night roster at the conclusion of Main Camp.
