Three members of the Eugene Generals staff are headed to San Jose, California this weekend to work at this year’s USA Hockey Pacific District Player Development Camp.
General Manager Flint Doungchak, Head Coach Justin Kern, and Associate General Manager Alex Stimson will each volunteer their time in various capacities over the three-day event, hosted at Sharks Ice.
Doungchak, the Pacific District’s Coach-in-Chief, will operate as an evaluator for one of the three birth years present (2001, 2002, 2003). Kern will also serve as an evaluator and Stimson will be serving as a Team Leader for a team at the 2003 birth year.
"It's always and exciting weekend for me to work with many of the hardest working volunteers in our district whose goal is to simply make hockey better," said Doungchak. "It's hard to explain how fun that really is - to work with people who really want to do good - and that just makes for a fun weekend.
"As usual, I'm really excited to be heading to San Jose once again," said Kern. "It's an event that I look forward to every year, particularly being able to work with the very best kids from our district. It's a great opportunity to help out USA Hockey which has done a lot for us in the past."
"Having been through the process for a few years now, it's very fulfilling to return to San Jose and see so many players and staff that i've gotten to know and work with over the past few years," said Stimson. "I'm looking forward to a great weekend helping the west coast continue to raise its profile on the national stage."
The trio will be joined by Dan Trent, a coach within the Eugene Jr. Generals youth hockey program, who will be a Team Leader at this year’s Pacific District PDC.
