The Eugene Generals, in partnership with Lane Bloodworks and the Health & Safety Institute, will host the 3rd annual Eugene Generals Blood Drive this Saturday, January 20th in advance of the team’s matchup against the Everett Jr. Silvertips.
The blood drive will be at The Rink Exchange, located on the Lane County Fairgrounds, between the hours of 4:00pm and 7:00pm.
All fans that donate blood at the Eugene Generals Blood Drive will receive free admission to Saturday's game against the Everett Jr. Silvertips, which is scheduled for 7:30pm at The Rink Exchange. Donors will also be automatically entered to win a one-of-a-kind Generals "zombie" jersey which the team will be wearing against the Jr. Silvertips on Saturday night. The full design for this year's "zombie" jerseys will be unveiled later this week on EugeneGenerals.com.
"It's such a fun and unique event that has enjoyed some wonderful success," said Generals Associate GM Alex Stimson, "but most importantly it helps save lives, and were proud to be able to work with Lane Bloodworks in such a significant effort."
"From an organizational standpoint, it's vital for us to do all that we can do give back and contribute to the Lane County community which has been so good to us for the past thirteen years; but looking at it in terms of developing our players, our staff has a responsibility to help them develop not just as hockey players but as people, and I think that it's important for us to participate in events like this to further foster that development."
Walk-up donations may be accepted, but space is limited and fans are encouraged to sign up in advance at LaneBloodCenter.com. Click the link below and type "Eugene Generals" into the Name of Location search area to reserve your spot.
The special "zombie" jerseys worn by the Generals players during Saturday's game will be made available for auction on EugeneGenerals.com immediately following the conclusion of the game.
The Generals are also scheduled to face the Jr. Silvertips on Friday at 7:30pm at The Rink Exchange. The matchup will be the first-ever meeting in Eugene between the two organizations. Tickets are available now at EugeneGenerals.com.
