The Eugene Generals have officially announced the team’s regular season schedule for 2017-18 season.
In what will be Tier III junior hockey's most unique and diverse schedule format, the Generals will be facing off against a combination of USPHL Elite teams, collegiate teams, and Tier I 18U teams.
The regular season schedule currently features a total of eighteen different opponents: three Tier I 18U teams (Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy, Everett Jr. Silvertips, Wenatchee Wolves), three collegiate teams (Arizona State University, the University of Oregon, Western Washington University), and twelve USPHL Elite teams (Potomac Patriots, Richmond Generals, Florida Eels, Daytona Racers, Atlanta Jr. Knights, Hartford Jr. Wolfpack, Hampton Roads Whalers, Jersey Shore Whalers, Boston Bandits, Connecticut Nighthawks, Syracuse Stars, Team Beijing).
The Generals are currently slated to host a total of twelve games at The Rink Exchange during the 2017-18 regular season.
The first “official” home game will be Saturday, September 30th vs. the University of Oregon. However, the Generals will also face off against the Ducks the night prior (Friday, September 29th - 7:30pm) where Oregon will serve as the home team while the Generals will be classified as the visiting team.
The Generals will later host another PAC-8 foe as Arizona State University will take the ice against the Generals in a one-game showdown on Thursday, October 26th at 6:00pm.
This season will also see the Everett Jr. Silvertips and Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy make their first-ever trips to Eugene to face off against the Generals. CDA will go toe-to-toe with the Generals in a two-game series in mid-November while the Jr. Silvertips will make the trek south to the Emerald Valley in mid-January, also for a two-game series.
The following weekend in January, the Generals will host their third collegiate opponent of the season as Western Washington University comes to town for a pair of games at The Rink Exchange.
The regular season home schedule concludes with a pair of two-game tilts against Tier I 18U opponents, the first coming against the Jr. Silvertips while the season-ending series will feature the Wenatchee Wolves, a former NPHL opponent of the Generals.
The regular season schedule is subject to change. Stay tuned for information regarding the promotional schedule for the 2017-18 season which will be announced soon.
