The Eugene Generals are proud to announce the signing of forward Blaine Krona.
Krona is the team’s second announced signing of the current offseason after fellow Montana native William Wallace signed with the team last week.
"First of all, I can't wait to start," stated an excited Krona. "I'm absolutely psyched to start the season."
Like Wallace, Krona attended the Eugene Generals Preseason Evaluation Camp back on April 29-30. "I heard great things about the Generals," said Krona. "After looking at them, seeing their stats and how they operate, I was very excited to come to camp."
Blaine Krona (above) turned heads among the Generals coaching staff at the 2017 Eugene Generals Preseason Evaluation Camp.
The Columbia Falls, Montana native joins the Generals after previously playing for the Flathead Fusion.
"We make a big effort to reach out to smaller hockey markets and associations," said Generals Head Coach Justin Kern, "and we aim to find those hidden gems that are ready for the jump to juniors. Blaine came to camp and absolutely worked his bag off. He was easily one of the hardest working players at the camp and seemed to play a part in every scoring opportunity that was created."
Born in 1999, Krona has three years of junior hockey eligibility remaining and aims to one day play collegiate hockey while pursuing a career in physical therapy.
"Honestly, I just want to work," added a determined Krona. "I really, really want to grow as a player and to keep improving. I've been told that I've improved leaps and bounds in my overall game, and I just don't want to stop."
