Generals Fall Behind Early in 11-1 Loss

Bremerton, WA. -The Eugene Generals (13-27-1) could not keep up with the West Sound Warriors, losing by a score of 11-1.

The Generals fell behind early, allowing the first nine goals to the Warriors. The Warriors had four goals apiece in the first and second periods.

During the first period, West Sound had four goals from four different players. Gavin Nickerson, Luke VanSchaak, Dom Kolbeins, and Carson Duggar all scored within a span of eight and a half minutes.

The second period saw similar results for the Warriors who lit the lamp four more times during the frame. Nickerson scored again, followed by goals from Jimmy Morgan, Matthew Walters, and Cory McClintick.

After a West Sound goal in the third period, the Generals connected for their first goal of the game coming at the 8:49 mark. Buddy Dale extended his goal-scoring streak to five games, his eighth goal during that span. Rookie Baxter Cox had the assist on the goal.

The Generals would allow two more third period goals for a final score of 11-1. Like most of the games played during his career, Goalie Daniel Spencer faced a barrage of opposing shots. Facing 63 shots on goal, Spencer recorded 52 saves in his penultimate game in a Generals’ uniform.

Tomorrow will be the last game for the Generals this season. They will conclude their tenth season with a 2:35 matinee on the road against the Wenatchee Wolves.
