Eugene, OR – Goaltender Chris Beadles and the rest of the Eugene Generals (22-18) shut out the Puget Sound Tomahawks (14-25) 7-0 tonight at Lane Events Center-Ice. The Generals put the pressure on the Tomahawks all night long and were actually able to net three shorthanded goals on the night. The Generals put together a great game just in the nick of time as the playoffs loom only four games away.
“Beadles had a great game tonight.” Generals Head Coach Chris Hartly stated. “He was able to get in front off all the shots and didn’t throw rebounds out in the open. He did everything you could ask from him tonight. The team really stepped up and came together tonight. We took care of our zone first, played hard for the entire sixty minutes, and the score showed that in the end.”
In only his third start in a Generals uniform, the 6-7 rookie goaltender Chris Beadles was able to stop all thirty five shots that came his way. Beadles overshadowed the outstanding performance by Garrett Bossert who scored two shorthanded goals, and added an even strength. Lucas Romero also continued his hot streak as he put two goals in the net and added an assist. Ryan Schank and Desi Ritari each had a goal in the contest, and Troy Mytinger had two assists.
The Generals will host the Tomahawks at Lane Events Center-Ice tomorrow night at 7:35 for Fan Appreciation Night. The game tomorrow will be broadcast on GiTV. For more information on upcoming games, special event nights, and GiTV please visit eugenegenerals.com.
