Generals Sign Forward Garrett Foster
The Eugene Generals are proud to announce the signing of forward Garrett Foster for the remainder of the 2017-18 season.
A native of Saugus, California, Garrett is the twin brother of current Generals forward Dillon Foster and the younger brother of former Generals goaltender Cody Foster (2013-14) who is currently in his sophomore season as a student-athlete at Division III Becker College.
He joins the Generals having most recently skated for the USPHL's Tri-City Icehawks during the 2015-16 season, and he previously skated against the Generals during the 2014-15 season as a member of the Bellingham Blazers (16G, 27A, 43PTS). Before his time in Bellingham, Foster spent multiple years playing in the Los Angeles Jr. Kings youth program.
The Californian was quick to highlight General Manager Flint Doungchak and the franchise's family-centric atmosphere as what proved to be the most influential factors in his deciding to sign. "Having a good, supportive general manager in Flint definitely made the decision a lot easier, and I'm looking forward to playing good, competitive hockey in a great place with a really good group of guys."
After joining the team's practices last week, Foster will make his official debut tonight against the Wenatchee Wolves. Tonight's game will be the first time that both he and his twin brother, Dillon, will have played together on the same team in nearly a decade.
